WINDOWS 7 !

1)What versions is Windows 7 available in?
There are 6 versions available. These are starter, home premium, professional, ultimate, OEM, and Enterprise.

2)Describe some of the features of the new task bar.
Features of the new task bar include pinned programs, jump lists, and the "show desktop" icon is now hidden in the task bar.

Pinned programs are shown as large icons. When moused over, all windows associated with that program will be shown in preview. If one of the previews is moused over, an "X" is revealed to close the window. If a preview is hovered over, a full-size preview of the program will show.

Jump lists are also a new improvement to the task bar. this makes getting to recently opened documents simpler to get to. Right-click or left-click then drag on any program icons pinned to the task bar. This will allow you to see a list of files that have been recently used in that program. If used in Internet Explorer, this will show a list of recently visited websites.

The missing Show Desktop icon is now been moved into the task bar itself. When moused over, in the right corner, hovering over the "show desktop" box reveals the desktop and moving the mouse will hide it again. The box can be clicked to minimize all programs.

3)What are jump lists and how will they be useful?
Jump lists are a way to get to recently opened documents in a simpiler way.
They will be useful because they show a new and simpiler way to get back to a file that was being used that was closed or for a quick way to view what was recently used.

4)How can one quickly size two windows to fill the desktop side by side?
To quickly size3 2 windows to fill the desktop side by side, simply move one of the windows further to the left and the other further to the right, and the will automatically re-size to fit half the screen each.

3. Do you think the video on future directions (second video) will come true? Do you see any advantages/disadvantages to the use of technology?

I think it is very likely that these things will come true.
Some disadvantages include:
- if someone has an accent while speaking, the machines may not be able to determine what the owner is trying to achieve.
- another is the machine may interpret what you are trying to command incorrectly and take you to the wrong location or preform the wrong command.
- because you have never away from work (always contactable)
- increases pace of life and stress levels.
Some advantages include:
- it makes connectivity alot simpler and communication easier also.
- you are always able to have access to work and leisure data
- you are always contactable
- always able to contact others
